The Melodie Has A New Member of the Band: Matt Trump on Guitar

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you Matt Trump!! Matt is joining me (Scotty) for the band's upcoming 2nd album, which is currently being recorded. Matt and I have been close friends for over a decade. The Melodie is doubling the rock for this second cd, with an all-new sound. This is a new move for the band, since I've been playing solo for over a year as The Melodie, and I'm so excited!

Geez! It's about time the Melodie came out with something new. This Halloween night, check out my PureVolume site (www.purevolume.com/themelodie) for the new song "I'll Never Miss Missing You"!!! What a way to kick off one of my favorite holidays. I'll be playing acoustic shows here and there, so STAY TUNED, PEOPLE! I'm pumping out new songs to put on my upcoming 2nd album (yet to be named), and I want you - the raddest people in the world - to hear them all. Thanks for listening, everybody!

New album in the making!!

It's been a long while since I last posted any news on the Melodie, so here's the latest: I've been slowly writing bits and pieces of new songs over the past months that I'm beginning to record for a new album. I have no idea what the name of the new album will be, and none of the songs are complete yet. Once I have a single to share, I'll post it on a new mixtape on this page and on my Facebook page, so watch for that in the next few weeks.
I have a lot to say in the new album, just like in my first album. You can expect a little more rock and fewer slow songs. Sometimes you've just gotta rock, and I hope to bring out that feeling in the new album.
I'll be writing more songs that I could play acoustic shows with. The first album has SO many layered guitar tracks and keyboard tracks that it's difficult to make the songs sound the same played on one acoustic guitar. So, hopefully I'll be able to play some acoustic shows with the new songs (and some of the songs from the first album).
